Hi. I am interested in getting a has for my small business. I need to backup a few machines, and would like to be able to share files remotely, and see if the file is currently being edited or used. (check out system)

I know that the NetGear ReadyNas can do this when combined with the Egnyte software. Does anyone know if the Lacie 5big NAS using OS 2 can do the same?

Also, can the NetGear readyNAS systems work on Mac?

I know the NetGear readyNAS can work with Mac's.

My office is considering switching from Box.com to Egnyte with a NAS.

Any updates to share since your original post?

If the OP is set on using Egnyte then Netgear is the only option.

What is your experience with Synology? I have another thread asking questions about Egnyte but I'm looking for any information on the various NAS available.

I don't have any updates yet, but I just received the ReadyNAS in the mail on Friday, and will be setting it up this week. I will let you know how it goes.
