I've bought a second hand 160GB Lacie Extreme triple interface HDD, I already own one which I upgraded several years ago to 320GB. When I did that I remember something about 320GB being the largest it could accommodate, possibly because there was no fan or possibly because the hardware couldn't support larger.

Does anyone know where I can get a definitive answer on the largest drive I can install? I want to put a 500GB drive in, but I haven't bought it yet so don't want to waste my cash.

Also will upgrading the firmware of the drive do anything to increase this capacity?

    Thanks :)

Does anyone have the answer to the OPs question? I'm looking to put a 1 TB drive in my d2.

    Thanks.
