so I bought this LaCie external drive a long time ago and then ended up selling my desktop. It's been in my closet ever since.

I just got an iMac and I plugged in this LaCie and when I plugged the ac adapter in I saw a small spark and now the unit won't even turn on. Is this salvageable? I used the correct AC adapter. This is crazy. This was a very expensive drive so I can't believe it just died by plugging it in.

[doublepost=1504926102][/doublepost]Perhaps only the actual adapter is defective. Just need a +12v adapter at 2-3 amps, plug is center positive.

It could be that simple.

I actually have a 2nd adapter and the unit is still dead. <\3
