Two 2 TB drives that you can set up in RAID 0 or 1. Integrated Thunderbolt cable. Using TB does NOT mean you need the external power supply. Using the optional USB 3 interface means you DO need to use the external power supply.

Definitely what we will be ordering later this year.

Saw the CES headline yesterday, liked what I read until I saw the $450 price tag. I have a couple of Rugged 256 GB SSD drives, love them for what they are.

For the same $450 I can buy 8TB of Seagate storage in a similar form factor - as TWO 4TB Backup Plus Fast Portable Drives (@ $205 each) from Amazon and still have $40 left over. Bus-powered over USB 3, plenty zippy, same 3-year warranty. Basically the same device without the rugged enclosure and steep price. I'd go maybe $300 for the enclosure + storage - this from a LaCie Rugged Drive owner, but $450 is a bit too proud for me for the one drive...

Needless to say....don't pay list for one. Get it via B&H after the initial list price erodes.
