My experience is very good. I've had many over the years without any issues.
As long as the source is LaCie or an authorized reseller with factory refurbished goods, you should be fine.
Just need to be careful with "open-box" goods that may be missing accessories.
The warranty is long enough to take care of any early deficiencies.
Many of these LaCie refurbs and clearance items get snatched up quickly. Especially the 2big and 5big drive arrays.

Also interested in this. Grabbed a 4tb 2big for $260 a couple days ago and it's arriving shortly. Fantastic deal if its reliable. I'll be doubling up on the backups until i know for sure though.
been running fine. no issues. looks like a solid purchase. but i still dont trust it enough to not clone it every night to another drive.
