what size i has to put for my external ssd drive in partition? for example the bootcamp that i want to copy with winclone is 338.48 gb to my 500 ssd.

As mentioned above ^^^^^, you will be given the opportunity to allow WinClone to expand the Windows environment to use all available space if desired.

Just FYI ... you can also have WinClone minimize your Windows environment when creating the initial saved image so that it can be transferred to a smaller partition as well. Of course, if the actual used disk space is larger than the target drive, you would have to delete or archive some of the files to make the active environment smaller before compressing it with WinClone.

So came the lacie plugged in tb erase and partition in fat 32, start winclone choose bootcamp from the left to destination of the lacie ssd and now i receive this message ( invalid partition type the partition type is not gpt. winclone requires a gpt partition type ) any help?

Disk Utility is weird when formatting as FAT32.

Even though it appears as GPT to OS X, Disk Utility formats it in a hybrid way, so that OS X sees it as GPT and Windows see it as MBR.

You'll have to use gdisk (free command line utility, obtainable from github) and use it to remove the hybrid MBR part to make it a pure GPT disk.

You need to format for MS-DOS(FAT) on the target drive for WinClone.

My process:
-- Use WinClone to save my BootCamp image to a file on my OS X boot disk.
-- Attach external SSD and use DiskUtility to format it as MS-DOS(FAT).
-- Use WinClone to clone the previously saved image to the freshly formatted external SSD.
-- Use BootCamp app to delete my original internal Windows installation ... since I have a saved image of it I can easily replace it if desired.
-- Select the external SSD Windows as the startup disk and reboot.

You initially format the target drive as "MS-DOS(FAT)" for WinClone to restore the saved image.

Thanks a lot everybody for your help. I did it. Actually was very easy with your help of course . Now booting to windows is 0.40 sec than 1.45 before. And this cause I have the Skype that needs to load up. Everything on windows feels snappy like in OS X. Big difference. How to test the speed of ssd on windows? There isn't such a program like blackmagic disc for windows?

i left the in windows about an hour and after i couldn't wake up the iMac. i had to push the button to close and to open. anybody help? and how i enable trim?

I presume it's already too late for this but when you remove the bootcamp partition, be sure to use Boot Camp Assistant to do so and not Disk Utility...

I did that that happened when I left the iMac about an hour in idle . After I restart is ok. I don't know what is gonna happen if again I am gonna leave in win 8 about an hour

FYI... I installed windows 8.1 on the Lacie TB Rugged 256GB SSD drive via bootcamp. No winclone or any other software needed. All you need to do is install the bootcamp drivers on an external usb thumb drive and when you install windows via bootcamp it recognizes the external SSD as a bootable drive. Works great!
