Why do most apps not use internet over Edge or 3G? I have looking forward to NOVA by Gameloft but it seems it will only be WiFi and Bluetooth.

I have a game called Warfare Incorporated which has network multiplayer and it is fantastic.

Why don't more games use this?

I'm guessing one reason may be that it requires the developers to host their own servers. This would raist their own costs significantly (especially indie developers), and thus game prices. But I agree with you, I would be willing to pay more for such a feature.
