lol!

How does a SS watch feel with sports loop, isn't the weight distribution of the watch+band very "lopsided" to the top of your wrist...? Also, can the watch stand up under its own weight if you take the watch off, tighten up the watchband and lay it down on its side...? I have a feeling the SS would be too heavy for the band and it would sag and lay down under its own weight.

Cheers!

If I recall, Space Black has been more expensive than standard stainless due to the additional time required for the process.

This year Apple just made them all more expensive.

The Space Black stainless steel Apple Watch is the same price as the regular stainless steel watch. This was the case with Series 3 and is the case this year with the new Series 4.

My 44 mm Black stainless delivered today. I have to say, I know the packaging is much different, but so clever how they packaged everything together with the band being separate. Only Something Apple Could do.

Ordering 44MM Gold stainless next.

I’d be interested in seeing the band that came with it, please, as I have that box but haven’t opened it as I already have a Black Sport band. Some people say the new ones look different, but if i’m going to sell or gift my unwanted band I’d rather leave it unopened.

The box seems a bit long now, if the band is no longer in it... ;)
I know, they want it to be the same length. But it still seems like a waste.

It most certainly is different. As you can see in the picture photoed below, the Series 4 black Apple Watch band is actually thinner, and is also slightly more ‘charcoaled’ color than it is a full black as you can see next to an older Apple Watch black band.

@tromboneaholic was referring to the DLC process, which is a coating process with the steel and it was a more expensive Purchase Over the regular 316L stainless with the first GEN watch and Series 2. Apple just made all the stainless Apple Watches more expensive this year comparatively.

On a different note, I'm curious why you've put the crown on the left where you have to reach across the watch to use it. Just never see it done that way.

On a related note, my late Sept/early Oct Apple.com SBSS order delivered today, the Best Buy order I made at 3:08 EST when I got the delayed release of my SBSS never shipped and didn't look like it was going to for a while.

It was a similar situation with the Series 0 SBSS, the first orders didn't go out until 3-4 weeks after the launch of every other model. You could thank the DLC process they were still tweaking then and now they basically make Space Black to order due to the more labor and technique sensitive method of production.
you must not workout too hard with weights I imagine?
Ive been wearing mine on the left ever since I got the original because my hand would press the button. Its actually not bad on the left side scrolling with your thumb I like it.

i really wanted the SBSS and that's what i pre-ordered through two companies, but alas, it was so back ordered i just opted to buy the GSS in store. but that DLC coating, and color versatility are what makes the space black so sexy. it flies under the radar but still looks premium.

Because it is probably the least in demand AW out of all of them is a guess.

Looks to much like the SG Sport for my liking and returned it the one time I had it.

Yeah, I love the SBSS and it is super durable. Not quite sure how durable the physical vapor on the GSS will be, could be one or those cases where it looks real nice when not marked up but once scratches it looks kind if awful. I don't think scratches on a gold watch wear as well or add good character like it would on the regular SS.

Apple gave me dates on my second order of between 9-28 and 10-02 so it should be trickling towards Jacksonville soon!
When did you order your second SBSS and what range were you originally given in the conf email? Was it the 9/28-10/2?

I Finally saw one or two SS (not gold) moving in that range. But nothing for the next ranges.

At 3am I ordered my SBSS 44mm from Apple and it arrived on Friday the 21st. About a half hour later, I ordered another for my brother's birthday on 10-15. Apple came back with dates of 9-28 to 10-2. Still in processing, no movement.

Good luck. I finally decided to do SBSS this year and didn’t even try to wake up :) I ordered at 6:30am and have the 10/12-10/19 range.

Right now, there just isn’t much SS other than Gold shipping.

I have confidence Apple will get it to me within the promised dates, they always have.

Do not like Apple's idea of gold, I think they forgot what it looks like.

Do not wear this anymore but if Apple is looking, this is what GOLD looks like:

Both are great, just some good ribbing from each team.

The GSS is the best looking watch Apple has made yet imo. While the SBSS is the conservative, durable tank that kind of blends in and even sometimes is mistaken for a SG sport.

Both have their pros and cons.

I don't like the gold nearly as much after seeing it in person. Thought it would have more oompf (best description, ik). Seems more reflective than wholesome. Best way I can describe it without using shades of color.

Gold feels very blingy and oldschool to me.
But it's good that we get alot of choices.

I’m going to order it tonight. Others are saying its a ‘burnt’ bronze hue tone. Which I really need to see it for myself in person under different lighting. I think it will match my bands perfectly for the most part. I just received my black stainless yesterday and its one of favorites, as I had this color in the past.
