Why does your spider have ten legs 😕

The spider has 8 legs and 2 palps.

Palps are used for grooming and to help with feeding. Also used by the male in the transfer of sperm.

I find most spiders fascinating. Used to have a pet tarantula. That sucker could move fast if she wanted to.

And in general, I'd rather have a few spiders (OK, so your lethal ones are slightly different!) round the house than flies and beetles.

I'm ok with my flies and mosquitoes (not much beetles in here). And I think Chundles would be too 🙄 ).

Yo, Chundles, come pay a visit to Arizona, pretty much everything out here bites, stings, pricks, and poisons. The only thing deadlier than the bugs are the reptiles, and the only thing worse than them are the plants. That is, if you're not mauled by a mountain lion first, or caught in a flash flood (hint: don't camp out in low spots). Then again, without a gallon or so a day of drinking water, you'll be dead in 72-96 hours anyway.

You'd still be safer in the open country, though, than taking your chances on the highway...

And for all that, your spider still scares the bejesus out of me!

If I had something like that living so close that it could be in my garden, or worse, get into my house, I'd seriously keep a bottle of antivenom around just to be safe...

Spiders really really scare me but I live in the UK so I don't get anything big or poisonous (do I?) 😱 I normally hoover spiders because I'm too scared of them to get them out of the house without killing them (as a side note, someone invent a way of capturing spiders without touching them so I can release them in the garden). 🙂 Bees don't really bother me (they make honey, I'll let them off) but wasps I will just kill because they'll plain annoying.

I poked a hole in the Al foil on the top of the cup and filled the thing with Mortein.
