Lady Gaga is the latest artist to launch an Apple Music weekly show, and with "Gaga Radio" she'll chat with dance and music stars and debut exclusive DJ mixes.

The inspiration for Lady Gaga's hyperactive 2020 album Chromatica came from one magical place: the dance floor. A joyride of glittery synths and let-your-hair-down hooks, it captures the singular, soul-cleansing euphoria found from sweating under a disco ball.

Every Friday on GAGA RADIO, she honors dance music by speaking with the DJs, divas, and producers who inspired her and helped bring Chromatica to life. Each episode will also include an exclusive DJ mix from one of Gaga's guests. It's a celebration of dance music when we need it most.
The interviews will focus on the team who helped Gaga bring her 2020 album "Chromatica" to life. The show will be available on Apple Music every Friday at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, starting this Friday.

I know there is obviously more pressing matters but it must suck releasing albums now and thru this covid19 with not being able to promote it in the way these artists intended on.
Its definitely challenging for entertainers that’s for sure. I was thinking about the news that Mulan will dual release in theaters and Disney+ in September. This really might wipe out entire industries like theaters.

It’s been really crazy and I like seeing  music and other service providers helping entertainers find new ways to promote their work and interact with fans. I like the idea of discussing the album with the producers and others who worked on it and getting more insight into that process. Should be a fun time.

What?

not many artist promote with concerts or events as much as they did in. The 90’s or prior. It’s all in the social scene (apps and stuff), brands and partnerships: clothing, makeup, sneaker collaborations, marketing income from smartphones etc and having an appearance conversation on talk radio, then finally with collaborating on other tracks - unless you’re a super star.

Man, I'd love to see something like this or Lil Wayne's show but with a big Country genre personality interviewing Country stars. I remember hearing that Apple Music was expanding its presence in Nashville, but have yet to see any fruits of that.

GaGa would be the last person I’d worry about during this! With all the payola resources behind her!

I don’t do any thing gaga; not even babies. She is one weird woman. I also don’t get into the new fangled music.

*shakes fist. “Hey, you kids up there! Turn down that noise. That isn’t music.“
*shakes fist. “In my day....”

Sorry, the response the judges were looking for was, “YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN!

You say, “She is one weird woman”. like that’s a bad thing. I grew up listening to a lot of different music (in a house filled with classical and big band and rock & roll), and grew to enjoy the good bits of many genres. I quite like her.

I can do Big Band, Classical, Jazz, and Classic rock n roll. I can’t do the new music. It is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I see Gaga as the female Elton John. The difference is a like classic Elton minus his classic outrageous antics and attire.

I know a lot of people like Gaga and that is fine. She does nothing for me.

Oh i hear you man, but with people like Gaga you know she is all about visuals and stuff. I guess i was thinking in regards to more pop / dance heavy stuff it will not be as big/ successful now due to not being able to go out to clubs etc. If you get what i'm saying.

I understand and I agree with your original posting. The lessor known pop and other genre stars - which are known by name yet not mega stars like Gaga, Drake, etc (in todays era of music) they have alternatives like I previously mentioned.

Very curious how this will play out for Gaga.

If this is the kind of role model our impressionable children are going to have as their role models I worry about the next generation
Same was said about Elvis, and The Beatles, and before that, Jazz, and before that, various classical composers.

My nieces like several of her songs quite a bit (the ones they’re old enough to listen to). Lady Gaga is a extremely talented woman with a lot of creativity and drive, who has worked hard on something she enjoys, and parlayed it into a high-paying career. She makes a fine role model for the next generation. I can only hope my nieces do as well in their chosen fields. If she serves as a role model to them, so much the better. The generations I worry about are rather older that that.

Well its very clear... Apple is going back to their old trick of signing up celebrities to gain customers. It was Lady Gaga featured on the Ping launch...we know how that worked.
