Lag lag lag why can't we jailbreak without having lagging problems?

Why can't we have members that don't post stuff that's been and gone a dozen times?

And simply Jailbreaking doesn't lag anything, it's all the stuff you cram onto your iPhone.

well i hardly use things i just jailbreak for clippy, and sbssettings, winter board only for transparent dock. still lags ( i know winter board causes lags but how else would i get a transparent dock?)

Those apps you are listing are some of the number one culprits for lagging your phone down. Probably going to have to wait for the improved processing power and ram of the new iPhone to handle the background processing if you wish to be lag free. Otherwise get rid of Winterboard and SBsettings.

If, in fact, Winterboard and SBsettings cause lag, then they will cause lag regardless of the hardware they are running on.

I only have Sbsettings installed to disable SSH to save some battery. Is there anyway to disable SSH (Without uninstalling it) without using sbsettings?

I too get a fair amount of lag in certain places.

The main reason I have JB my phone is for apps like PDA net which will never be allowed in the App Store

i decided the lag was getting a lil too much for me, so i DFU restored and re-jailbroke & all ive installed on top is SB Settings, Five icon dock & Five column & installous. So far everything is just as speedy as stock 😀 yes i had to leave out some of the nice icons / springboard packs but i SSH'd a nice font and some custom tones and im loving it 🙂

I have mine jailbroken but I found that the number one culprit in lag is Winterboard. I installed it, put a theme on, and I got lag.

The only JB apps I have now are Cydia, Cycorder, SSH, Terminal, and SBSettings. There's still a tiny bit of lag, but I think it's worth it for SBSettings and it's not nearly as bad as when I had Winterboard.

No, they are different. Installer is like Cydia but sucks(now anyway, used to be awesome pre 2.0). Installous allows you to install cracked apps, which if anyone does, is a total tart.

Installer is officially on my s***list now because it sent me into the endless restart loop. Only Cydia for me.
