So I officially have an iPad mini 4 now. And I'm pretty excited with it. Especially the multitasking functionality and Continuity are awesome! Really happy that I finally bought myself an iPad.

I did notice something quite odd. The appswitcher seems to lag a lot. Are more iPad mini 4 users having this issue with iOS 9.0 or iOS 9.0.1? I've heard that iOS 9.1 will fix a lot of this kind of issues (at least, on my iPhone 6 it runs better compared to iOS 9.0), but not sure how this applies to the iPad mini 4? :p

Been seeing a bit lag at other places as well, but not as much as with the appswitcher. So anyone who's able to clarify things to me?? :)

Mine lags too.... Hope that iOS 9.1 will fix this annoying issue.

I decided to go for iOS 9.1 beta. Turns out, there's not difference at all. Appswitcher still lags as in iOS 9.0.1... Strange that it has not been fixed yet.

Its there and apparent, been posting about it everywhere. Hardware and screen on mini 4 awesome!

IOS9 and its problems not fun! battery lasting hour or two less than mini 2 not awesome especially since IOS 8.4.1 on my mini 2 runs like a dream. On my Air 1 IOS 8.2 runs like a dream..

Guess what no more going back to IOS 8.4.1 supposedly. Apple is trying NOW to force us to update to IOS 9.

On my mini 4 I got install now/ install later, no deferred or I do not want to install option to go from b340GM to 9.0.2

On my other devices if they automatically update themselves to IOS 9.x whatever, Apple is going to have hell to pay because they absolutely work perfect with the version of IOS8 on them.

IOS9 to me is still a beta product especially on a new tablet that cost so darn much and IOS9 is ruining its potential and battery life!
GRRRRRRRRR!

Question, when you have been using apps with OS or third party that playback sound effects or audio through speakers, are you finding that it will be set at the volume it starts at then all of a sudden on its own goes quieter? (Mini 4 with IOS9)

Like I will start up a game, any game and the first couple of minutes audio is as loud as I have it set with volume. Then so many minutes or random amount of time into the game or video app or music app the volume quiets itself a couple of levels down.

Like I was playing Beach Buggy Blitz racing the older one. 3 minutes into game volume was somewhat loud then its like someone turned it down, which I did not do, and then the rest of the time I play the game is set at this lower volume level, I did not set.

I load YouTube or Netflix or music/radio stream app, plays at volume I have it set at for awhile then randomly quiets itself and stays that way until you close the app all the way out. Reload it, use it, then it happens again.

Of course I do not know if its IOS9 and core issues in the OS, or it does not like older apps optimized for older versions of IOS, or if its hardware.

So wondering if you have noticed this at all? because my mini 2 and Air 1 with IOS 8.x does not do this at all and its very strange.

Other than that, speakers sound great and work perfect but it seems like a software glitch within the OS and it messes up the apps your in and volume levels while using any app that uses sound.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks.

Yeah, I've noticed some lag at times. Not really a big deal though.

iPad 4, iPad Mini 2, iPad Mini 4 and iPhone 6+ here all running iOS 9.0.2. I experience no lag on any of my devices in the task switcher. By lag, I mean the device actually locking up and becoming unresponsive for a split second or longer. None of that. The task switcher is obviously less smooth on my iPad 4. You can see that it's running at a lower frame rate and some frames are being dropping every now and then, making it appear stuttery in some cases. This is much less pronounced on the Mini 2. The mini 4 seems a bit smoother than the Mini 2 and the 6+ is the smoothest of all of my devices. This makes sense as it has less pixels to push around. I see nothing here indicating that the Mini 4 is misbehaving compared to my other devices. It appears to me that it's solely an iOS 9 problem, not a Mini 4 problem. Poor design and poor optimization. They choose fancy animations and effects over buttery smooth 60 frames per second. Go figure :(

Not that I've noticed, but I almost always use earbuds/headphones. It does sound like a software thing though. Will probably be fixed in an update.
