I have noticed that in iOS 8, when you are in Safari, you can't see your status bar, is that intentional? I'm rather confused by this. What benefit does that serve?
 
I'm not sure what you mean. I am looking at safari and rotating it back and forth. Nothing changes with the bar along the top.
 
I can still see it in portrait orientation, but it disappears in landscape. Perhaps to take more advantage of that display.
