Laptop battery?

Is it better if I leave my laptop pluged in all the time (when on), or unplug it and work off the battery.

No, you should allow the battery to "work" and not leave it connected to main power all the time:

Leave it plugged in when you can, but run it down once a month or so. Lithium batteries like to be topped off daily...

It does not really matter how long you leave it plugged in as long as you let it discharge once in a while.
