Eh dual booting is, well a hassle. I have my programs split have an half on OS X and XP. I have my Adobe CS3 creative suite on OS X and my 3D modeling/rendering and CAD programs on XP. I don't like having to switch between the two. Yes I would prefer is Solidworks would just come to mac so I can run everything on OS X. I have read a couple times that Adobe programs tend to run better on OS X, but I doubt you'd notice.

If you already have CS4 programs then what OS are they on because that would be the OS I would go for instead of going down the dual booting route.
Or you could simply use Open Office as a microsoft office replacement or buy office cheap with your student discount for mac, it works fine for me.

Personally I hate the glass in front of the screen on the new MBPs, I would look into getting the last rev "non unibody." I just got my mom one for $1500 and it was pretty much the same thing as the new ones without having to switch between dedicated graphics and integrated graphics. It is such a better deal as well and you still get a Mac.
