My grandfather has just gotten his first computer, ever, and it's quite a struggle for him. Beyond the technical challenges, he also has no idea how to type, and finding the keys can be quite the challenge, especially for the characters you have to hold shift to get (like an ! ). He has gigantic hands and bad eyesight which combine to make him a very slow and clumsy typer. Could anyone recommend a keyboard that would help him solve this issue?

Look around for Reizen keyboards, they make a couple like that. I know that they can handle USB, but don't know how well they would work out on a Mac (they have abbreviated Windows layouts).

Big Keys

Big Keys keyboards are what I've purchased for my elderly clients. They take a LITTLE getting used to, but are the best option I've seen. They also have a serial to usb adapter for us Mac types.

www.allegromedical.com sells them in the states. Good luck!
