I've had my 60 Gig iPod for a while now and love it. I watch videos mainly on the small screen.

Then, Apple ups the resolution for purchased video.

I download some of the new shows, but, wow, the filesizes are much larger. I only have basic DSL and it takes a long time. Also, does this not make it so that the iPods hold less video?

I downloaded some of my own files and used standard mpeg4. They look great on the mobile screen, so so on a standard TV set, and horrible on a projector.

The old Apple downloads look fine on a TV set, and ok on a projector.

The new Apple downloads look great on a TV set, and nice on a projector.

I did use my iPod to watch a show on my projector I had missed and was able to download from iTunes, it was really nice.

I'd just like to know other's thoughts on this.

As for me, I will use my iPod mainly to watch shows on the road, and encode videos for the smaller screen instead of higher quality which eats up disk space. I have a nice DVD player if I want quality on a projection screen.

I'm looking forward to iTV for iTunes/Internet content to accompany my Tivo.

Nice job, overall, Apple for making all of us happy.
