Mine is small, around 800 songs and 10GB of storage.

I want to manage my offline music but that Music app on Sequoia is just terrible. I'm thinking about reviving my old Pro 2012 and install Mojave to manage the library there but don't know if that Mac works

if you don’t like Music, maybe consider Roon integrated with Tidal/Qobuz.

My purchased library versus my song library on apple music is ridiculous, 12k songs total, 3-4k songs purchased the rest are added through apple music. Like 80 gigs on normal settings aac settings, 402gb if I download them on Hi-Res lossless.

Funnily enough itunes used to be bad on windows but apple legit fixed it for the better now, what's mind blowing to me is smart playlists can only be managed through Windows or Mac setups versus ipads or iphones.

I am in the minority that buys movies through the TV store, I have like 1,100 or so movies, who knows how much TB of movies that'll add up to, and won't ever know because Apple doesn't let us download 4k movies on desktops/laptops, just stream it.

29608 songs, 92:15:39:06 total time, 670.49 GB

All music, all hand-curated over the span of 22 years, all metadata filled manually (including all sleeve art), all duplicates removed (different pressings of a particular album, like Aja by Steely Dan, are not duplicates), all defects replaced (or removed until a replacement rip can redress it), and I’m still far from being “done”.

Sources include vinyl rips, CD rips, and other lossless and lossy sources (such as high-res 24-/32-bit and >48kHz remasters). There is probably around another 300GB queued to be added at some point. Zero tracks originate from the iTunes Music Store or any other microransaction source (such as Amazon).

This house uses iTunes 10.6.3 for everything, and everything gets sent to the preamp via s/PDIF/TOSlink from a dedicated MacBook Pro.
Where is your library hosted? You mentioned a dedicated MBP, are you using it to also host the music? Are you using external drive(s)?
