To all of you misguided Knicks fans saying "we'll be great once we trade, we'll be greate once we trade!" please pull your head out... um.. of the sand. That teams if loaded with some pretty untradeable contracts. Go back and look at what each of those guys are making and get back to me with some realistic trades that work under the cap. The Knicks are still far from being competitive, don't kid yourself.

i don't think anyone is calling hte knicks good. You can be pretty bad and still make the playoffs. Any team that puts forth consistent effort and focus (except maybe the bobcats and the hawks) will make the playoffs in the eastern conference. With Larry Brown, the knicks should have this.

They'll be in the playoffs and they'll maybe win one game there.

Larry Brown is the whore of basketball. Every couple of years he finds a new city. He has no loyalty. Its a shame that such a great basketball mind can't stay in one place for a while.

He's a loaner Dottie, a rebel...

I'm from Motown and it was time for Brown to leave. He got the job done and now wants a new challenge. Joe Dee had to have known this could happen when he canned Carlisle 2 years ago.

But I think Brown is walking into a buzzsaw in New York. That team is saddled with salary cap woes and there ain't no end in sight. Why do you think Jackson went back to LA instead of coaching in the Big Apple where he played?

My point was that Brown was the difference.

He definitely put them over the hump and got them the title. It will be interesting to see how Sheed plays this year. I think Brown was a good influence on him. And that is something most people have forgotten about - how wild and unruly he was in Portland.

Sadly, the Knicks are in the salary cap sewer. It is kind of sad how far they have fallen since the early-mid 90s. I'm not 100% sold on what Zeke is doing over there...

I agree that the Knicks have players with outrageous contracts. But I still believe Brown and Thomas can trade players away. We shall see what happens during the next few weeks.

Yes, he helped the Pistons to get that tile two years ago. And indeed, it will be interesting to see how Rasheed Wallace plays this year under Flip Saunders instead of Larry Brown. This will be good test to see IF Larry Brown was one of the key factors of the Pistons success

well penny and tim thomas's contracts both expire at the end of this year so it's not quite that bad.

Read from Sports Illustrated that Larry Brown might move Stephon Marbury off the point guard position. Since Marbury is a shooter, that might not be a bad idea. Heard Brown in interested in getting Eric Snow from the Cavs to fill the point guard position. Cool :D

I hope not. Eric Snow is really bad. And old. I really like the idea of moving marbury to 2 guard. Herb did that a bit, having crawford play the point asn well as, whats his name - that guard they picked up from the CBA. I vote bring back frank williams.

Was Eric Snow that bad last year? Remember, Larry Brown's 76ers went to the finals a few years ago against the Lakers. And the point guard then was Eric Snow. Unless his performance dwindled, I believe he'll be okay. But maybe you're right, having Crawford or that other guy from CBA might be a better idea.

Eric snow is a larry brown point guard. He plays within himself. My problem is that he's, what, like 35? Why waste resources on a player who is pretty much over the hill when you have conceded that you are rebuilding. i'd rather have nate robinson at the point.
