...after all the hype on the "real-but-not-official" upgrade 2 weeks ago, does anyone knows something?

I'd really like to buy one, but I'm waiting for the 1.5Ghz G4 to become "official".

Nobody knows anymore than just that. Right now it's a complete toss-up as to which version you'll get.

I personally would NEVER order one until all of them have the upgraded specs. Until the Mini page on the Apple Store is showing the new specs, I would still call the upgrade unfinished.

That's what I'm doing... if only I could get this monkey off my back...

:D

Do you want a stock mini or a BTO one? All the hearsay has it that BTO units will be the newer specs.

Also, Apple dropped the prices on the 1GB memory upgrade for the mini - it's now cost effective to do a BTO for the memory. (At least from the US Apple store website.)

I agree, unless you really need a new Mac Mini, I would wait until they upgrade the page to make sure they will ship out the newest version to you.

... or you could could order a standard config mini direct from apple store online, and when it comes, don't open it. Just go to support.apple.com and type in the serial number on the bottom of the box. It will give the exact model (there are two): The updated one will say "Late 2005". Give it a try: YM5360V2TAC

I placed an order tonight, I'll tell you how it goes.

<edit>You must type it in under "About your Apple Product" about half way down the page on the right. I suppose you could do this in store as well, if there is an internet connection.
