what would be the best battery replacement for a late 2008 unibody macbook pro 15"? i bought this computer used and it's in awesome shape; only the battery lasts a little more than an hour. which battery would you guys recommend to replace it?

thanks!

A battery from Apple. I personally would not mess around with other batteries.

Before you replace it, you may want to calibrate it and see what its health is. If you do need to replace it, I wouldn't recommend anything but an Apple battery. Too many people have had problems with 3rd party batteries.

This should answer most, if not all, of your battery questions:

Even as expensive as they are, I'd recommend an apple battery. That just guarantees you won't have issues with it. I'm thinking about picking up a new one myself.

ditto. i picked up one from Apple so that I have a backup during power outages. i cycle between the two so that i don't over work one more than the other and they will expire roughly at the same time.

i bought a 3rd party one for a 2007 MBP and it swelled, generally sucked, and was not returnable.

When you do replace, go to the Apple store if you can. The batteries list for $129, but I got $30 off for having it replaced during my genius appointment.

i'll get one directly from apple.....thanks for the fast responses! just checked my battery health, it's at 77% with over 700 cycles.
