I have a Late 2009 27" iMac thats been a work horse. Lately I've noticed screen issues ("marching ants" vertically across the screen every couple inches, more noticeable on dark backgrounds) and like a soft watermark across the screen? Again more noticeable on dark backgrounds.

Anyways, I downloaded iStat and have been paying attention to the temps, after speaking to several people I've been told these are way too high, but I really have no idea. Any input it very appreciated. Its super hot to the touch as well.

What model is yours? What CPU? How much ram?

My i7 27" from 2009 goes FAR higher than that when I'm running Boinc/Seti @ Home or under heavy CPU load. But I run the fans at medium: 1500+ for CPU, 3300 for HDD and ODD about 2400. That's just what it likes to run at. If I see the temps creeping up too high I max the fans for a while or open a window (it's cool out right now) or make sure the AC is on.

Thanks for the reply! How hot is yours getting!? Just out of curiosity.
Uploaded a "about this mac" screenshot.

Model: MB953XX/A

iMac use mobile parts, which can easily handle these temperature. Unless your readings are in C, but not F (which is highly unlikely).
