Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and hoping to perform an upgrade by swapping my Optical Bay drive with an SSD on my late 2009 27" iMac

here's what I think I know:

- the optical Superdrive is 12.7mm
- I must follow iFixit's Optical drive replacement instructions to replace it

here's what I am having trouble with:

- I recently ordered this optical bay caddy:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123#ht_1780wt_1398
on the advice of a member Zed X on these forums and it arrived today but I noticed there aren't any screw holes on the sides... should I be worried about not being able to screw it back into place (as the iFixit guide seems to suggest the Superdrive needs to be unscrewed out)

Can I just tape the bay into the optical drive slot with electrical tape?

I believe this optical caddy is 9.5mm, will that still fit okay?

Did I make a mistake buying this cheap caddy or are all caddy's pretty much created equal (just two connectors in a piece of metal)?

here is the original thread I found the information on:

If any recommendations for a good caddy are out there, I'm all ears, or if you think mine will work then please also let me know! Here are some images of my caddy:

If that is the same auction which you ordered this from then I'm afraid that's a caddy for an IBM think pad. Which is probably why it has no
Screws in the side.

If the connector is SATA - Slimline Sata then you can most probably bodge it in.
