    Hello-

I have a 2.53 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB DDR3 mac mini and I'm wondering if anyone has had any issues with 10.8.

Would my system be able to handle it or should I just stick with 10.7?

    Thank you in advance.

    I'm running 10.8.3 on a 2.26Ghz 2009 Mac mini with 8GB RAM.

    Works great.

Do you encounter any lag or freezing when running apps?

I have the same model as you. Mac Mini 2.53Ghz, 4GB
I have no issues with 10.8.3
Is there a specific program you are interested in running?

Not really; I just wanted to upgrade the OS and take advantage of iMessage and notification panel.

btw, thank you guys for the quick responses! I appreciate the insight.

Never stick with 10.7. It is the Windows Vista of OSX. Either run Snow or Mountain.

I have two early 2009 2GHz Core 2 Duo minis running 10.8.3 without a problem. One has 3GB of RAM and the other has 5GB. No lag at all and both run really smooth. Fantastic little machines even four years later.
