Hi

So after a month of use, im thinking there is something wrong with my new macbook.

I have 2gb ram, stock hdd. I log into osx, and i watch activity monitor, i watch as the avaiable ram goes away steadily, over to inactive ram, and after 30 min of light mail, web and itune use, i have 10mb ram left, and 1gb inactive ram.

And the macbook becomes painfully slow.

Anyone know whats up?

Free RAM will steadily go down, that's normal. Inactive RAM is essentially free RAM that has data in it IN CASE the data needs to be retrieved, but can be easily written to if the system needs it.

Your actual RAM usage is the active RAM.
