Late 2009 MacBook SSD Upgrade

    Hello!

    I'm wondering if the Samsung Evo 850 SSD will work in a late 2009 "clamshell" MacBook 6,1

    I looked at the 840 but noticed the 850 was available.

    It will. But only at SATA II speeds, since that's the limit of your machine.

    Ah, perfect thanks! I'll see if I can find the 840 cheap somewhere.

    - Sure thing. Perhaps also look into the budget Crucial BX100. It's cheaper, and if you get at least the 250GB it should be adequate in terms of speed on a SATA II machine.

    I am partial to Samsung, though, and will recommend their SSDs without reservation. But I would suggest you get the newest generation.
