Just to eliminate the obvious, I already reset my router and switch. I disconnected the cat 5 from the imac and plugged it into my macbook and the connection is good. When plugged back into the imac I get cable unplugged status. I initially slaved a new cable and it worked. When I disconnected the cable from the imac to route it with my other cables hasn't worked since, any thoughts. Thanks all.
