A friend of mine has had this recurring problem with her MacBook Pro and I don't seem to find the source of the problem. At first I asked her what she did before that happened, and she told me she was on TinyChat. I told her to reboot and to check other services that use the camera. The camera worked fine on Photo Booth, Facebook, and Tumblr. Even TinyChat. So I ruled out TinyChat as the possibility to the problem. I haven't told to her to Repair Permissions because I want to know if there's something else causing this, and it's better if she doesn't flick around with not-so-novice things. After the TinyChat test, she continued using her computer but after, approximately, 2 hours later, it happened again. What could be causing this? A faulty GPU? I told her to go the nearest Apple reseller (no Apple Stores here) and try to find help there. She still hasn't gone.
