Hello all, will be upgrading from a late 2011 mbp to one of the 2016 TB options.
Reasons for upgrade, some kernel panics recently just right before my university exams. Still getting occasional panics even after reinstalling OSX and disabling plugins. Battery requires replacing. For some reason, even pdfs are taking a long time to load and to scroll, comparing this to my 2010 iMac which runs just fine. Already on a SSD so yeah.

Just a couple of questions

1. Downgrading from a 15" to 13", any noticeable difference? I went to see it in stores, somehow didn't like the smaller display, but the cost savings might make sense to me.

2. Coming from a quad-core i7 to a dual-core i5. I know its a newer processor and newer generation, but what bout performance wise with parallels? I will be running visual studio on parallels and some light editing on photoshop and xcode as well.

I'm currently looking at these options

1. 2016 13" TB 2.9 / 16GB RAM / 512GB
2. 2016 15" TB 2.6 / 16GB RAM / 256GB

Storage wise would be nice to have more, but it is not the deciding factor for me.
More or less set on the 15" option, just wanna take a second opinion before making my purchase
