Hi Guys,
I got a late 2012 27" iMac with stock 8gb ram, i did some googli & found out by the manufacturer code(0x02FE) that my stock ram is from Elpida. I think they are 1.5v like the other 2012 iMacs. I was thinking of putting the corsair vengeance 16gb upgrade package & leaving the stock ones as spares. Anyone tried & are happy with the vengeance series? any performance difference specially in gaming :D will the iMac run fine with only the vengeance ram? inputs would be great.

Thanks..

Got the vengeance RAM in my 2012 15" cMBP. Also upgraded my brother's laptop (same model) with 16GB of 1600MHz. And upgraded my sister's 2011 iMac to 32GB (4x8GB 1333MHz modules). I'd highly recommend them because they're by a trusted brand and very few people struggle with reliability.

One of my RAM sticks went faulty about 3 months ago after over 3 years of use (previously had the RAM in my 2011 15"), but the returns were painless. Didn't need proof-of-purchase or anything like that -- just submitted an RMA through Corsair's website, put 'it failed Memtest', and got 2 new sticks back.

So in conclusion, I'd say they're very reliable and if they go wrong, returning them isn't a hassle at all.

THAT'S the sign of a quality company. They immediately replace defective product, even after extended use. I got my RAM from Crucial, who is pretty good with replacements/returns as well, but I'd have no problem with Corsair.

good to see the ram has no issues running on the 2012 iMac
you guys noticed any performance difference? the vengeance is c10 latency vs the stock that is c11. Also this ram is targeted to gamers so no benchmark differences?

Thanks..
