Hi guys,
I just upgraded my ram in my late 2012 27" iMac to 16gb corsair vengeance ddr3 1600mhz. In the impatience & hurry i just removed the existing ram from their slots without paying attention which slots they were in, I put the new 8gb ram dims in slot 1 & 4 which are BANK 0/DIMM0 & BANK 1/DIMM0
Hope thats correct  anyone know if its right?

Thanks..

When you go into About this Mac, and then memory, do you see that the two 8 ram modules show up as across from one another on the top, or does it look staggered with the other two 4gb modules?

I have only installed the 2 8gb corsair modules & not the stock ram, they are across each other & have attached the pic. Is that correct?

Thanks..

That's how I have it, but kept the two 4gb sticks for a total of 24gbs - the two 4gbs are on the bottom. I forget which slots they're in though.

the 4gb are different CL compare to the corsair vengeance i got so didn't want any speed issues so just left them aside for a rainy day. So i got the slot right like how it was with the 8gb stock ram?

Thanks a Ton.

I also suggest that you leave your original sticks installed - You have 4 slots, might as well use them...

The 16gb corsair vengeance ram is CL10 compare to the stock ram that is CL11.
If i install the stock 8gb also will downgrade the ram speed to 1333mhz which i don't want.

Thanks..
