Late 2012 27" iMac thunderbolt hub?

Hi Guys
Only have 4 USB slots,
Thinking of a Thunderbolt hub,
Most listed appear to have a USB C connection
If I purchase a cable ( USB_C / Thunderbolt )
Will that work?
I guess it will be a lot slower than the latest thunderbolt but faster than USB3?

Yes the adapter works both ways

Just make sure you get a Thunderbolt hub and not USB-C. A USB-C hub will not work with the TB2 to TB3 adapter.
