OK so my 2012 MacBook Pro has had a failing battery for sometime now , all of a sudden I see the screen is black and all I can get it to do is give me three beeps. I don’t think its the ram being loose I wouldn’t think because it’s soldered in the late 2012 models what are the chances it’s just the battery? No known water damage or anything else.

Could you have a swollen battery? The battery may have disrupted the cable that goes between the hard drive and the motherboard. The mid 2012 MBP has removable/replaceable RAM and the battery is held in place with screws. I think there are various small screws with philips, torx, and tri-bladed heads. Once you have the proper tiny screw drivers it is just a matter of removing all of the screws that hold the bottom of the case and taking a peek at the bottom innards. It should be obvious if your failing battery is swollen.

Do you have a 2012 retina, or NON retina MBP?
The NON retina has the DVD drive on the right side.

If it's a NON retina, I would suggest that you:
- Remove the back cover (you need a Phillips #00 driver, BE SURE TO USE THE RIGHT TOOL)
- GENTLY remove the RAM DIMMs
- Clean the contacts on the DIMMs.
- Reinstall the RAM
Then put the back cover on and try booting again.

If it's a retina, the RAM is soldered in.
I'm thinking the beeps might be an indication of something else wrong.
Can you boot to internet recovery?
(command-OPTION-R)

The late 2012 (as per title and OP's post) is Retina, soldered ram, and has the battery glued in place.

It could be failing ram but I don't think Apple stores will look at the machine anymore.

Battery glued and slightly swollen, I’m pretty sure this Mack book doesn’t have removable ram

Soldered RAM can still go bad. You'd most likely need a logic board replacement.

So couldn’t just be the battery? These have been around along time and no one has had the 3 beeps except for ram or logic board ?

Wow--didn't realize that the late 2012 models were built like ipads, my bad for not reading the title more carefully--I just read the body of the messages.

Well cracked it open removed the battery ordered a battery off Amazon and tried it today no luck still three beeps. Dang it.
