For some reason my late 2012 iMac 27 is dropping wifi. I can’t figure out why it is doing that. iPad and other wireless stuff has no issues in same location. Any ideas. Thinking of just replacing it with the new Mac mini or what for next iMac update, but not sure how long that will be. Thanks!

Try turning off both Bluetooth and Wifi.
Then turn on only Wifi.

If that restores the network connection, then change the WiFi to 5GHz only from your router.

Bluetooth runs similar in the 2.4GHz region like WiFi 2.4GHz.

Keeping BT and WIFI on different frequencies helped me.

Is the iMac close to the router?
Close enough to use ethernet instead of wifi?

It is. I’m a trying that and see how it goes. Even connected to router was having issues using Plex last night. Can’t figure that out either.

Appreciate the help!

If you connect via ethernet and then TURN OFF wifi...
... if you still experience speed problems or connection "drops" -- then your problem is almost certainly located somewhere else other than the iMac itself.
