Hi! Looking for some advice, I’m still currently on my beloved late 2013 15” rMBP, still works great, currently running macOS Mojave, mainly using it for music production (Logic Pro X and Ableton), just wondering is it still worth to upgrade the SSD (running low on my stock 256gb) to like third party 512gb or maybe even 1tb? I was thinking about saving up for new M1 however my late 2013 does everything I need it to do, my mate that works for Apple repairs recently managed to get me brand new genuine palmrest with keyboard, trackpad and battery for this particular model and I’m about to replace it soon (used to worked at the repair center myself too ages ago, so it won’t be a problem to do it myself). I could possibly get 1tb compatible SSD for roughly £150 new (I’m based in UK) however I’m not sure if it’s worth spending that amount since I’m not sure how long Apple is gonna support late 2013 with macOS updates? On the other hand late 2013 15” has haswell processor just like mid 2014 and 2015 so would it be possible that they will keep it supported as long as the 2015 15” MacBook Pro?

Any advice will be much appropriated!

At the end of the day my late 2013 will still have brand new battery (new palmrest etc) and spending £150 for 1TB ssd won’t hurt my wallet as much as £1300 for new m1 pro lol

Use a 3rd party NVMe drive with a Sintech adapter. This allows you to easily repurpose the NVMe drive.
