Hi Guys
I'm wondering what information I can get for the Late 2013 - 27 inch iMac
what can be fitted in the pcie slot
ie pcie 3.0 or pcie 4.0 ssd
and the difference for V NAND or non V NAND m2 ssd's - yes this is a "flash" thing
yes this might be an old question but can't seem to find any information on this,
im a noob in a way but have repaired my Mac's for years and I thought I might upgrade my late 2013 27 inch iMac

thanks in advance for any information

The information you need is provided here:

AFAIK, PCIe 4.0 is only supported on motherboards produced in 2020 or later, and by intel CPU gen 11 or later.
iMac 2013 only has Intel gen 4 CPUs.

it looks like the m2 blades are the problem on all these models....
as the sleep is a bit out of whack...

I was looking at the Samsung 980/980pro or the 970 EVO Plus
also I would be putting in an xtra 2.5 ssd which I already have to fill up the 1tb had slot
any info on the ssd would be great - but not as a link to another thread..as that one is nearly 5 years old I would expect some updates or further info on the sleep problems (this is a polite question)

Thanks

I have the same question regarding internal ssd On a late 2013 imac 27” The ones in the article referenced are twice the price if you can get them , is there a list of compatible ssd’s which are avail now?
i note that gen 4 not compatible , i presume that gen 3 is and does it have to be a Rand ssd ?
does anybody know if Crucial P2 compatible?
