Is the difference really only .2GHz? Anything else? How about 4k monitor support? Can both models still do 5XHz on Display port and 30Hz on HDMI?

From the refurb store, the price diff is around 5% for the same amount of RAM and SSD.

    Thanks!

The only visible change is the processor (the 15 inch model got bumped to 16 GB ram standard as well). The design and other specs are the same. If they changed anything, it was too small to notice.

I would get the late 2014. For that small of a price difference, get the latest and greatest.

The way I look at it, the mid-2014 are cheaper versions of the late 2013 models. Especially the base models got a significant price drop. Double the RAM and a faster CPU for the same price.

But to answer your question, Iris is still Iris and it performs the same as in the late 2013 models.
