So I’ve been having this issue for quite some time but there’s times it doesn’t happen but I noticed it’s starting up again when I watch YouTube videos on safari or chrome browser the gpu fans get loud and all of a sudden it shuts off I’ve tried resetting the iMac and that’s no help... so I know I should make an appointment to the Genius Bar but I’m afraid it’s gonna cost more then it should and it might be best for an upgrade? Has anyone gone through this situation any advice would help and much appreciated.

That,s easer said than done ,it is a big job to get in the machine,you have to be very compatant to do that.
