A very pricey option for sure. What I liked about the Satechi was the front-mounted ports.
 
Gotcha. Not really necessary. Just was thinking of convenient option.
My mid-2015 MBP has Thunderbolt 2 and I'm totally fine with it.

There are some USB 3 hubs out there that do not sit under the Mac mini. I use one but the items I have plugged into it are mostly powered by their own power supply like my Printer, the 2TB Maxim Hard Drive for archives and the Bluray, dvd, cd player all on their own power. I tried the keyboard but Monterey does not play nice with a keyboard plugged into a hub. My hub is a USB Hub 3.0 - Rekidm 4 Port Aluminum Desk USB Hub 3.0 Clamp Design from Amazon, it fits on the back of my computer cart. See below for my setup:
