I have a chance to purchase a 2nd hand "late 2105 21.5" iMac" 2.8ghz 1 T/B HDD (not a Fusion) 8Gig Ram.
Is this the current model available from the Apple Stores ?

My mate purchased it in Nov 2015 and paid $1,800.00 and is selling it to me for $1,400.00 (note that this is Australian Dollars not US). If it is the current model its retail now is $1,999.00 (Because of the low value of the Australian Dollar)

I currently have a 2011 iMac which still runs well via an external SSD boot drive which I will use on the new one and use the slower internal for storage or backup..

Thanks
Keith

Yes it's the current model.

The skylake 21.5 imac hasn't been released yet. Expect a faster integrated gpu.

They aren't going to update the 21.5 from what I have heard because they don't have the cpus to do it yet, their are no low voltage processors to put into the iMac to upgrade it.

So thats probably not going to happen until kaby releases ULV cpus.

kblake for mine that is very top dollar, and the 21.5" has only a 5400rpm drive severe limited its speed.

You can get a similar spec 27" for that money, or just a little more. Places as Macs Like New in Sydney are the best places to check.

I've a iMac late 2015 and i would recommend it.

Even with a 5400 rpm hdd it's seems to be fast enough, once booted you won't notice any slowness.

I'm just thinking to replace the mouse as it's not perfect.
