I've had this computer for less than 2 weeks and it's been working flawlessly... except today, at 40% battery power, it somehow powered off and will not turn on. The TouchID/Power button is unresponsive, and a specialist on the phone walked me through how to do a reset (holding 3 keys and the power button and letting go). Nothing works. Plugged into all 4 USB-C ports and a number of different power outlets. Heading to the Apple Store tomorrow for a Genius appointment but hoping someone has some advice to spare me a trip to the Apple Store at Christmastime!

Was your Mac plugged into a power source when you pressed Shift+Control+Option+ Power and then releasing all three at once, and then pressing the power button again? If so, have you tried this method again?

Yes and yes :(
