So I turned on my Mac tonight and without sound even playing the left speaker made this horrid noise and I knew right away the speaker was fried . Of course with luck my Mac is also out of warranty and yes I know its my fault that I didn't buy apple care.. never had a hardware issue with a Mac ever , my question is basically am I ****ed ? I googled this and weirdly I found a ton of people all this year with the same issue . sounds like it could be a hardware/software issue much like bootcamp was blowing out everyones speakers during launch . So will apple ever make exception repairs ??

Take it to the Apple store and ask

Hello derek, would you please inform us if you had any progress with apple?
Like any exception?

speaker is about £20-30 on eBay, still cheaper than AppleCare
I'm not sure what you did, but I had Windows 10 and my speakers are fine
