Haven't they already announced an April 24 launch date for a number of non-U.S. markets for both the wi-fi and 3G versions? My assumption has been that we'll get 3G in the U.S. at that time.
I wonder if late April is when Apple anticipates FCC approval for the 3G version and they'll start shipping it as soon as they get that.
I have a 3G on order as well, but I can wait. I have plenty to do in the meantime.
they can't even offer it for 'sale' (even pre-orders) until there is FCC approval... So - since they are taking pre-orders it's a pretty safe bet the FCC has authorized it. Probably just part of the manufacturing ramp-up, and perhaps they are trying to convince people there is enough wi-fi that they don't need 3g... They almost had me convinced, and if the sprint overdrive had cooperated, I might have stuck with it...
