I'm not sure how this is funny considering if you take the logo off most of the Android phone most people won't even able to tell who the actual makers are, let alone the name of the phone. At least they can recognize the iPhone. Frankly with samsung and HTC coming out with 10+ phone a year, and giving them random names the joke should be on them.

Not really true, HTC is quite a cool brand these days.

Exactly my thoughts, it seems like they just chose small clips of the stupidest people to include in the video. It was only done for comic effect so it doesn't really matter, of course, but it's hardly a realistic view of most consumers.

wait, do you mean that scripted late night shows and reality tv isn't real??? :)

world=shattered

Wow... I thought iSheep weren't real. I always thought that was just a name that fandroids gave educated apple fans that love their products. These guys are just dumb. Give apple fans a bad rep.

A video pointing out the brand obsessed sheep isnt needed to show apple fans having a bad rep.

They, along with apple, have had a bad rep since the iPod took over the market by storm... incidents like Apple & Samsung making behind the doors deals where Apple got dibs on NAND memory at discounted prices and cutting off the smaller mp3 player manufacturers from getting a fair deal should have been an early sign for all of you that Apple is really shady.

But hey, calling out apple and its fans on such disgusting behaviour is apparantly a crime.

That's actually good. There's a new HTC/Samsung phone out as soon as my contract finishes instead of waiting for 10 months for the next iPhone.

lol

Says more about the average intelligence of those people than it does over the differences of the iPhones though :)

Apple fans have a long standing reputation in the Tech Arena for being the stupidest consumers of technology.

Its not even the fact that they know very little about the technology they spend thousands on.

Everybody has to learn and start somewhere and no one has issues with that.

But its the sheer arrogance and attitude of the Apple Fanboi that makes everyone disklike them intently. They know nothing except they think they are "Experts"

There is not a shred of humility from any of them. You only have to look at all the 2012 members of this forum who come here preaching about the iPhone like they know everything about it. Most dont even know which side up you would put a DVD into a Macbook let alone the inner workings of the ARM Cortex A15 Architecture.

Im so happy that the competition has surpassed Apple in Phones and im hoping someone catches up on the notebook side too because i cant wait to leave for good.

It's not just Apple fanboys. It's Apple, Android, Samsung, Toshiba, Twix, Manchester United, Boca Juniors, it's <insert name of brand here> fanboys.

Most people think they always know more than they actually know. Although my text could by a contradiction since I'm saying I know that people think they know but they don't, but since I'm saying MOST people I'm generalizing and creating an exception for a large number of people that when they talk, they know, and when they don't know, they stay silent. :p Confused?

It's any fanboys, not just Apple. There's always a "love this brand group" and always a anti-brand group :p It's the natural path of things :)

It's thanks to people like these (on the video), that I understand why Apple thinks people get confused and don't distinguish between Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy.

They'll probably use a similar video to prove their point.

Normally i would agree with you but i suppose my point being that i have never witnessed it as bad as i have with Apple.

This forum is a classic example of just how bad it can get.

There is truth in the widely held view that there is a "cult" type following of all things Apple.

I have yet to see a video of other people being so dumb though although i the last similar thing was the Xbox red ring of fire. People on their 5th Xbox and still brand loyal.

TellMeLies

Honestly I think most ordinary consumers wouldn't know the difference. Many don't even know the model number they have in their hands. It's just iPhone to them.

Are you sure? Looks like a Samsung to me, ask Apple, they will tell you the same as they did in court:)

exactly- which is why the iphone4 is more than most will ever need from a phone/ipod combo. And it's free. IMO- you do not get much for an extra $199.
The 4 will do just fine until they release #6

Typical!!!

This only exposes what Android users have been saying since the iPhone first came out, in that the Apple, Mac and iPhone users are the dumbest people on the planet and wouldn't know a superior or inferior product if it hit them in the face.

The new iPhone 5 is a huge disappointment, I switched from my iPhone 4 to Samsung Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean and I will tell you this, there is no way i'm going back to iOS. iOS is inferior in every way possible if not gimmicky, iPhone hardware is always inferior to Android hardware, compare the Samsung Galaxy S3 with iPhone 5 and see for yourself. Apple have simply run out of ideas, which is why iPhone 5 looks the same iPhone 4s as did the iPhone 4. We expected something radical for the iPhone 5 instead we got something regressive.

You have never seen a video of other people being so dumb? You should watch Jay Leno. He has a segment where he asks people on the street various general information questions and they always have no clue (at least the ones that get aired).

I know some consumers can be thick, but those people spoke competently enough, I question if any of that wasn't scripted. Still funny though.

Of course this forum is an example. It's a forum about... Apple. If you go to <insert brand name here> forum (of popular brands like Sony, etc.. Microsoft Xbox was a good example) you'll see the same. It's just certain humans nature :p

And the reason you probably see more videos showing up like that about Apple, it's because thats whats "IN" at the moment. Several years ago was the rrf in xbox (like you pointed out), or the blue screen in windows 95 (if i'm not mistaken).

I think I recall someone doing something like in this video about the fake iPhone 5 with a Windows version some years ago.

The average consumer doesn't know what's new. They just bought what you say. And there are people here, like everywhere. It's not just Apple or because it's Apple. It's simple the brand that is currently generating most talk.

30 years from now, if another company rises that's not currently active/well known and receives the same popularity you will see both "factions" rising... The Fanboy and the AntiBoy. It's the way of things :p

One the video was funny, I enjoyed it. Its an Emperor's new clothes deal, but second the only people giving apple fans a bad rep are the haters of Apple tech. Third, Toshiba pioneered NAND flash memory, not Samsung. Fouth, Apple has nothing to do with a crap MP3 player market, they did that to themselves by making cheap and inferior products. Thats why you can get an mp3 player in a happy meal, but people still pay top dollar for an iPod. Lastly call us isheep all you want, but any company currently makeing any technology would kill for our kind of brand loyalty, bad rep or otherwise.

But hey, calling out a hater on a bs argument is appeartly a crime.

Stupid video, you can do the exact same thing with any other device tbh, most of the people in the video weren't even tech savvy enough to tell a iPhone from a android phone. Probably could've done that with any product and some people would have similar responses. And people usually accept what they're being told when on TV, they dont want to seem stupid.

Just a tip: When you separate the numbers with a space, it makes them look like separate numbers, separated by a comma. Consider: $117,445,324,221. I had to reread that once.

Thank you.

$117,445,324,221.00 Cash. 84% off shore. Appropriately, as demonstrated by Jimmy Kimmel's iPhone Segment. ;)

Actually, it's embarrassing.

We're all idiots. :(

Meh, these evening talk shows always pull stunts like that about all kinds of subjects. It's a pretty safe bet that if you go out and ask a bunch of people the same question, you'll be able to find some who get it wrong, especially if you're intentionally misleading them. In order to draw any general conclusions from this video we'd need to know what percentage of the people they talked to didn't say silly stuff like that. I'm guessing from the fact that they used multiple clips of the same few people that most people didn't do anything silly.
