I'm looking to buy AirPods and have found them on Amazon for £30 less than Apple charge.

A google search indicated the revision 2 has the LED light indicator on the outside of the AirPods case, however both the Amazon and Apple site are still showing the Led inside the case.

Is this the only difference? Surely Apple website is most up to date and the latest ones have the Led indicator inside?

There is no revision 2. The wireless charging case is yet to be released and will be sold separately. If and when there is an Airpods 2.0 we do not know if it will in fact include the wireless charging case.

Well that clears it up, thank you.

No point holding out, although I would love the ability to control volume with gestures on the AirPods. Maybe in 2022.

The difference of the version two Airpod battery case with the LED indicator on the outside is that those will be capable of wireless charging with the release of Apples AirPower wireless charging unit for the iPhone 8/X and Apple Watch. However, both of those items have _not_ been released as of yet, which is likely in September. As far as version two of the AirPods, those are also rumored to be released either late 2018 or early 2019.
