Latest AirTags Firmware Update Tunes the Unwanted Tracking Sound for Easier Detection

Really annoying 'feature'. My brothers dog has an AirTag. If she stays at our place and my brother is not around it will make this sound and the dog of course goes nuts. They should make an option to share AirTags in Family, that would totally solve this problem I think.

anyone has good or bad experience with AirTag for your kid in school? Yeah anti stalking for adult is good, but trying to keep protect kid is another story.

I truly understand this. Actually I never thought about it really as I don’t have kids and I actually don’t have any tag yet but if that is compromising the kid by making other people know he has a tag is pretty scary actually

They’re not designed to prevent theft.

I think it works well on USA. Most people report the theft to authorities and they will go after the AirTag to get the suspect that might be with it

If it works for that then great, but it's not designed for that use-case. People moaning that it doesn't work well to prevent theft, or track stolen items, need to understand what it's actually designed for.
