I’m starting to think with Apples size, the theater may be way too small, I mean if you dropping 3 billion on a new campus, and a cool underground theater, you certainly don’t want to undersize it. You have the land, you certainly have the cash, so what’s an extra 50 million to build a 3000 seat theater?

I really hope Apple Launch iPhone 8 at Steve Jobs theater. Steve would be proud of that
The last two iPhone introductions were held in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in a configuration holding about 3000 people. The one before that in the Flint Center for Performing Arts, holding about 2400 people. The Steve Jobs Theatre holds about 1000 people.

In 2011, when the design of Apple Park (incl. Steve Jobs Theatre) was revealed, Apple held the iPhone 4s event in its Infinite Loop Town Hall, holding about 300 people (the 5s was also revealed there, the 5 in the 750-seat Yerba Buena Center for the Arts). It's quite possible that Apple thought back then that a 1000 people auditorium would be enough for its press events (outside of WWDC).

I think Apple would like to hold the iPhone event in the Steve Jobs theatre. But they also would like to invite more than 1000 people. In the end, they have to decide what is more important to them.

See above, in 2011 when the plans were filed with the city, Apple's iPhone event was held in their 300-seat Town Hall. It's possible that back then, they thought 1000 is plenty. It is also possible that they plan to have many internal events to which 1000 is a much better fit than a 3000 seat theatre.

The LHC is about 8.6 kilometers in diameter. By contrast the spaceship building is 0.464 km in diameter.
Is that 464 m the inner or the outer diameter? I'd guess it is the outer one, if yes, do you also know the inner one?

EDIT:
From the drawing at Wikipedia, I get a value of 358 m, which would translate into an area for the inner courtyard of only 25 acres (not the listed 30 acres).

Apart from the Moon, is this officially the largest round thing that human sapiens have ever constructed?
Are you saying that humans constructed the moon?

Looks to be around 360m when measured on Google Maps.

All looks amazing, and love the trees (grass to follow I guess)
But just 1 thing JARRED with me, which was, most of the tree's look nice and naturally arranged, which is lovely, but inside the ring, just one large area of trees and all perfectly lined up, like a row of soldiers. Looked just too man made, and not as natural as the rest of them.
Wonder whey they did that.

Fruit tree orchard layout.

You can save time by taking Lyft or Uber from the train station instead of the bus.
I want the cheapest option. Of course, my plan was to leave early from my planned location (about 6 am), then arrive maybe by 10, 11 am max. Spend a couple hours then head back.

[doublepost=1502995244][/doublepost]As discussed in a recent BBC programme, Apple are only looking to pay a fraction of land tax on this building, shame on them !!!

But... if a loophole exists that allows them to do it, they will. That's business. That loophole needs to be closed.

I wonder who designed these outdoor lights?

First thing that comes to mind. Anyone remember these?
