Rolling Screen shots, awesome! Wont have to flip through 10 screen shots anymore of a text convo posts on reddit
I've given up keeping track years ago. There's just too much stuff hidden behind multi-level menus, deep-presses, etc. for them to be easily discoverable. These days, when I want to do something beyond the basics, I have to do a google search to see if it's in iOS and how to get to it.I had no idea about the full page PDF stuff. Jesus, iOS does so much now that it’s impossible to keep track.
Something I had on a non smart phone 20 years plus agoSomething my BlackBerry had 15 years ago.
yesThings like can I see and control SIM card usage on every entry separately in the address book?
yesCan I see what SIM is going to be used when calling/texting and can I override it?
yesI assume both sims are independant and parallel (ie call via one sim and data via a second sim concurrently).
yesIs there a failover, if connection is poor or broken on the data sim, it will failover to the call sim?
i think the way to do this would be change the default voice line to the local sim, which will have outgoing calls default to that unless there is a contact specific override. incoming calls will still come through on your normal sim if it’s activeDuring the trip I'd like to keep my normal sim open for incoming calls, but would prefer to switch all outgoing calls to the second local sim.
The cropping process is way more streamlined than it used to be, now that the screenshot appears on your screen instead of just silently being filed away in Photos. Now you just tap that little thumbnail and drag in two opposing corners to get the crop you want.without cropping a full-size screenshot, which takes much longer
Thanks, most of that sounds good.i think the way to do this would be change the default voice line to the local sim, which will have outgoing calls default to that unless there is a contact specific override. incoming calls will still come through on your normal sim if it’s active

I think you always could, but it was only after taking a screenshot and then closing it that iOS would ask you if you wanted to save it to photos. Now there's an explicit option to do so.Weird that this wasn't always there.
I would love to have "Camera Roll" broken down into several categories:I just want and option for thephotos I take in iMessage to stop being saved to my camera roll.
FWIW, there are a number of apps that make short work of stitching together overlapping screenshots.Rolling Screen shots, awesome! Wont have to flip through 10 screen shots anymore of a text convo posts on reddit
A related bit that never ceases to amaze/annoy me is people seeing a picture on their screen in social media, and taking a screenshot (of a small landscape image in the middle of a tall portrait screen, with the top third and bottom third of the screen being all black), rather than (in most cases) long-pressing on the image and selecting "Save image". And then re-posting their screenshot, which other people screenshot again, on and on, until you end up with a tiny unrecognizable blob. Learn when not to screenshot, people!I still find it impressive how horrid it is to take screenshots on mobile devices, Android included, and there seems to be no intention to fix it.
These days, you can select text directly from images in the official Photos app and copy/OCR it directly off the image, no apps or jailbreaks needed.I still use it, it’s very useful for example when someone sends you their phone in a message full of text and you can just select the phone and with OCR get the number in the clipboard.
also it would be nice if you can do this and on other apps like WhatsApp or ViberUsing both private and work SIM in one phone I always wanted a feature to automatically switch off the work line after work, like a focus schedule. I hope this will be possible in iOS 17 as well.
Yeah I know, but easier to just do it from the Snapper tweak as I don’t need to take screenshot, save it, go to photos, wait for the text to highlight...These days, you can select text directly from images in the official Photos app and copy/OCR it directly off the image, no apps or jailbreaks needed.
If you take a screenshot, simply tap the markup icon (top right) and then tap the text detection button on the bottom left. Still I jailbreak for other reasons, it’s not like I’m in iOS 15 just for that tweak haha
Oh cool, didn’t know that. I suppose it would be a little slower still but I’m happy to know the tweak is almost an iOS feature. If you take a screenshot, simply tap the markup icon (top right) and then tap the text detection button on the bottom left. No need to go to photos at all.
You need to include the + symbol followed by the country code. Following the country code, you also need to omit the number 0 if it is the first number of the phone number (a lot of countries have phone numbers that start with the number 0).Just got back from vacation using a second SIM. I turned off my US due to roaming charges but had difficulty with my phone numbers in my address book being valid in Europe. How do set up your phone numbers so they work both in the US and abroad? Do I need to include the country code for all entries?
This would be really good. Or even just add some additional search criteria, for things like, say: "size:>20M".All I want… all I’ve ever wanted, is to organise my photos and videos by file size 🙃 with a 50,000 strong library there’s no way for me to find the larger photos and longer video on iOS when I need to free up space. 15 years of this lmao
