Hey all,

I have had my iPhone X since launch day and have been following the threads in here pretty thoroughly. I picked up a Ravpower wireless charger (the iphone specific one). Prior to the most recent update the charging light would flash orange indicating the charger was outputting power at 5W. After the most recent iOS update (to 11.1.2) I noticed that the charger is now flashing green while charging. According to the documentation on the charger that means it is fast charging. Anyone else notice this?

To answer the obvious question; no, I am not running the 11.2 beta.

Edit: update 11/20, last night it was back to flashing orange rather than green. Must have been a fluke. :(

Correct, which is why I was surprised. It may be a screwy thing with my charger though. Since Apple did not mention the activation of the fast charging in the release notes for 11.1.2 I am not sure.

Don’t see it on my X running 11.1.2. Light is still orange not green.

Weird. Mine is absolutely flashing green. I just double checked and the phone is on 11.1.2 as well. Maybe my phone is a fluke.

Funnily enough mine started flashing green too! I haven't noticed it charging any quicker mind!

Do you hear the charging sound of the phone (plong) twice ? If not, its only "normal" charging.
If you use a macbook usb-c charger and the adapter cable for lightning, you can hear the plong twice too.

Well last night mine was only flashing orange again. Must have been a fluke. I do not hear a double-tone when I place it on the charger either (never did).

And more mystery. Last night the charger was flashing green when I woke up. I wonder if the charging protocols are a little screwy on Apple's side.

More then likely your charger is incorrect. I am looking forward to when it is enabled on 11.2 though.

The X is my first phone with wireless charging.
I got this charger from Amazon

It arrived yesterday. I plugged it in and set my phone, that had 61% charge left, on it. Watched an episode of Halt and Catch Fire. Took the phone off the charger with 83%

I'm running 11.1.2, so I guess that is fast charging? I was pleasantly surprised.
Were u surprised by the episode cos it was so good or so short?

I had fast wireless charging on my old S7E with a Samsung wireless charger. Except it drops off every so often and makes a beep to tell you that it is charging again, annoying as hell.

Funny thing is the same Samsung charger doesn’t drop off with the iPhone X on it.
