The macOS Sequoia 15 and 15.1 betas that Apple provided to developers today officially introduce new macOS Sequoia wallpapers that first popped up last week.

The wallpapers feature the sequoia trees that macOS Sequoia is named for. The imagery likely comes from Sequoia National Park, located in the southern Sierra Nevada mountains of California. There are three separate versions of the wallpaper for different times of day: Sequoia Sunrise, Sequoia Morning, and Sequoia Night.

Each wallpaper is animated and will shift slightly at the Lock Screen when you unlock your Mac, plus there is an option to set it as a screen saver.

You will need the latest macOS Sequoia betas to see the official wallpapers, but downloadable versions are available on other machines. The Sequoia wallpapers will be available to all macOS Sequoia users when the operating system is released this fall.

The night version is really nice. I have my laptop running the beta, and my desktop off the beta, but would like both to have the night version. I can't find this version in the hidden .wallpapers folder. I only see the sunrise version. Does anyone know where the night version lives?

I have an iMac Pro 2017 and an M3 MacBook Air and for this beta, the new wallpapers Sequoia Morning and Sequoia Night appear on the M3 MacBook Air while only Sequoia Sunrise only appears on the old iMac Pro 2017. Interesting choice, or maybe they will add it later? Or maybe its a sign of Apple not showing wallpaper love unless you have a newer machine.

How dare they! Where are the new strips, straps, colored shapes, 50 shades or rainbows and other watercolor patterns? /s
If Apple doesn’t make ‘em, I‘m sure they‘ll soon be available through the Apple Wallpaper Store™.

After all, third-Party wallpaper creators deserve to be compensated fairly for their intellectual property. And so does Apple, for all the hard work and innovation they put into creating the platform. And their efforts at reviewing. Cause wallpapers available through the Apple Wallpaper Store™ will be carefully curated and reviewed by Apple‘s review team to make sure they‘re safe to use and don‘t endanger the security and integrity of your personal data and Mac.

Tim Cook: „We can‘t wait to see all the exciting wallpapers you are going to create!“.

At only 30% commission - with no upfront or setup costs, but including payment processing to boot - I heard it’s going go be a real steal for budding wallpaper creators. Though I still have some hope that they‘ll still allow sideloading of your own wallpapers.

This. I accidentally clicked on the old blue cartoon Sequoia Wallpaper and now can't see the new one in the list of options, despite being on the second beta. Same goes for the Screensaver, there's no option to select it …

I fail completely to understand what is going on with these upadates. I had the 15.1 few days ago, and for some reason I could not update to 15 beta 5. I decided to clean install beta 5 and now we have a new 15.1 again…🤔 I think I’m lost…

There are three parallel tracks. There's the public beta, the developers 15 beta (which is on beta 6) and developers 15.1 beta (which is now on beta 2). The .1 update incorporates features from Apple Intelligence, whereas the other track is the initial version that will be released to the public. This allows Apple to test some of the AI features while the primary public beta focuses on wrapping up features for the initial public rollout.

you have to choose 1 path, either 15.0 or 15.1, can't hop in-between

There is now "15.1: Beta 2" and "15.0: Beta 6". These are 2 different software versions. The ".1" was created to test Apple Intelligence features. The ".0" has everything the same without apple intelligence features. 15.0 will come out in September and 15.1 will probably be out in October.

So, from now on we will have two OSs: one with AI integrated and other one without it? Gosh! Do this make any sense to you?🤔
